A month in pictures – July 2020

Yep, I’m playing a bit of catch up. At the end of each month, I’m going to post a kind of pictorial “month in review.” Images that speak to and for me, as it relates to savoring our relationship with food. Here’s July. August is coming soon.

As I’ll probably state in a soon-to-be-pinned post, words escape me. Among my passions is writing, but these days I find it excruciating to sit in front of a screen and type words. Any words, really. I haven’t felt this stymied since I completed my doctoral dissertation over fifteen years ago – and I’ll be honest, that experience just about broke me. I’d rather be up to my elbows in the garden, learning and growing and sharing as much as I can in order to feed my family and my community. Edible gardening feels like important, honest work. Pretty much what the doctor ordered (and many horticultural therapists) and even though I’ll be an “inactive psychologist” at the end of August 2020, my expertise still stands.

Take care, friends. Stay safe but don’t forget to act in alignment with your most cherished values. Find ways to feed each other. And please vote in November, okay? Our democracy needs you. Desperately.
